Venezuelans are in tears

Updated 8/8/2010

Dear Journalists,

Godspeed for Juan Manuel Santos, new President of Colombia!

A series of events have Venezuelan citizens in tears. It seems that Hugo Chavez’s mental instability threatening and wreaking havoc in this abused nation treating citizens as hostages has reached its very limit.

Experts predict that Venezuela’s economy is on the brink of collapse. The following paragraph is from article published on http://www.stratfor.com/:

Special Report: Venezuela's Unsustainable Economic Paradigm

Despite being a major energy exporter, Venezuela is currently mired in economic recession
and suffering from record-high levels of inflation, a dismal condition known as “stagflation.” As the country’s economy deteriorates on a number of fronts, the government continues to struggle with an electricity crisis and worsening food shortages that are threatening to undermine support for the ruling party in the lead-up to September legislative elections. The Venezuelan government has tried to impose a range of currency controls, from currency devaluations to parallel market crackdowns, in an effort to resuscitate the economy. But the country’s distortionary and unsustainable currency regime not only is forcing more of the economy underground (leading to higher inflation and shortages of basic goods), but it is also catalyzing an elaborate money-laundering scheme that now appears to be spiraling out of control, thereby weakening the regime’s grip on power.

Stratfor also alerts of a deep-seated corruption, and evidence already in U.S. Court in Miami, and New York City could implicate senior members of the Chavez regime. Stratfor further explains that there are allegations which are now regaining steam following Colombia’s recent decision to release new evidence of Venezuelan support for FARC and ELN rebels.

Venezuela: Hugo Chavez Out of Control – by John R. Thomson & Norman Pino De Lion

Hugo Chavez is currently attacking the new U.S. Ambassador Larry Palmer nominee to Venezuela as reported on the link below:

Ambassador Adolfo Taylhardat commented on Chavez’s non-sense and hypocritical speeches blaming others for the bad things he does to the nation:

U.S. Congressman Connie Mack brought my own tears when said “It is also my hope that you will begin to come to terms with the on-the-ground human suffering that Mr. Chavez has caused to so many men, women and children in Venezuela. Once these realities are faced and addressed, I am convinced that the peace and unity in the hemisphere you speak of will truly become possible.”

Senador de EEUU responde: Ganar 14 elecciones no implica ser democrático

I wonder if the few educated staff that Chavez still has are working only duress.

Previous Colombian President Alvaro Uribe left the office after filing charges against Hugo Chavez at the International Criminal Court of Justice and The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).

Venezuelans need the aid from the International Court of Justice to resolve abuse of power in Venezuela and restore democracy.
