Venezuela's Political Disaster - March 7, 2009

Dear Journalists,

Following the release of the U.S. State Department's report evaluating the situation in Venezuela infamous and profane Chavez immediately reacted blasting President Barack Obama. Obviously, who ever does not agree in Chavez's lack of respect of dignity, human rights, and citizenship is an enemy of the leader.

All during the week there were several complaints of violence against Venezuelan citizens allegedly committed by Chavez's supporters, and reports of appropriations (or common theft against private industries) as is in the case of the rice producers. It is clear to see a Chavez out-of-control. Perhaps, he may be reflecting drug abuse, or alcoholism or just plain mental illness, but his behavior seems more disturbed in the last few days.

Maybe Chavez is reacting to the international war-crimes tribunal arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfur; or to the IACHR ruling on Venezuelan journalists. What ever the issues are it seems that Chavez does not care for Venezuelans, nor their financial well-being and prosperity. Chavez just likes to act calling for attention for the people to react about his whims.

Chavez does everything within his power to remain as president of Venezuela, but he does not seek out for the well being of its citizens, nor improve the quality of life for Venezuelans.

Cordially,
