Venezuela's Political Disaster - January 10, 2009

Dear Journalists,

Updated on January 11, 2009

The Venezuelan press reports that Chavez is uniting with Iran to implement punitive actions against Israel

http://www.noticias24.com/actualidad/noticia/22559/venezuela-e-iran-preparan-gestiones-para-sancionar-a-israel/

Free money!

Chavez donated US$53 million to thirty three countries as reported by Globovision in the link below:

http://www.globovision.com/news.php?nid=107710

No wonder Chavez has so many admirers and followers! He buys people, and shame to those who take from Venezuelan citizens while they need the money to improve their own quality of life.

Venezuelans are questioning why is Chavez reacting with so much passion and furor concerning the current war between Israel and the group Hamas. Venezuelan Journalist and Sociologist Macky Arenas asks in her article ¿No les parece raro? (Isn't it odd?). Ms. Arenas explains that Venezuelans have always lived in peace and respect with different ethnic groups and that a Mosque and a Synagogue are very close to each other in Caracas.

I wonder if Chavez, while eating his coca leaves for energy, has been financing Hamas? Chavez continues to seize the television networks providing bias, and hatred information concerning the current war in the middle east. Chavez should be censured, and citizens should teach both sides of the conflict to those citizens that do not know what is really taking place in this conflict.

Venezuelans need help from developed governments and international organizations to restore democracy and end corruption.

Cordially,

Maru Angarita

Chavez expelled the Israeli Ambassador to Venezuela, Shlomo Cohen, and all Embassy staff following the current attacks against Hamas. Chavez's vision is limited, and bias and does not understand that Hamas seems to continue with the cowardly method of using human shields of women, and children to protect their thugs. Is Palestine Hamas? or is Hamas inside Palestine?

Two residents of the area near UN school that was shelled by the IDF on Tuesday said that they had seen a small group of terrorists firing mortar rounds from a street close to the school. The two spoke with The Associated Press by telephone on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal.
IDF releases footage from last year showing UN school used by Hamas to fire mortar shells

Meanwhile, a UNRWA official denounced on Wednesday the shelling of the UN school, and demanded that an independent investigation be launched to determine the facts of the incident.
Christopher Gunness of the UN Relief and Works Agency, responsible for the school, said the agency was "99.9 percent certain there were no militants or military activity in its school."
Gunness said 1,300 people were taking shelter from the shelling at the school.

Various Breaking News

Please know that Venezuelans are reacting to the breaking news below. Please keep in mind that Venezuela is among the most dangerous places in the world. Reports inform that there were at least 520 deaths in Caracas in December 2008 from violent crimes. Chavez seems to care for everyone, but for the wellbeing of Venezuelans. And, now Chavez is raising hell to get attention:

Turkey holds suspicious Iran-Venezuela shipment

ANKARA, Turkey – Turkey was holding a suspicious shipment bound for Venezuela from Iran because it contained lab equipment capable of producing explosives, a customs official said Tuesday.

We All Told Him So ...

Updated on January 10, 2009

"Citgo continues support of free heating oil plan"

Venezuelan firm says it never ended deal with Citizens Energy
http://www.boston.com/business/personalfinance/articles/2009/01/08/citgo_continues_support_of_free_heating_oil_plan/

Citizens Energy had announced that it may lay off twenty staff members because of Chavez's action. Obviously, the former U.S. Congress has not suffered what is like to be unemployed, and struggle big time during a financial crisis.

I still get upset by thinking that someone like Joe Kennedy, II would do business with sociopath Hugo Chavez. Most of the bloggers advocates trying to help out to improve the situation in Venezuela wrote to the former Congressman Kennedy warning him of dealing with the infamous leader. After a few e-mails my address was blocked by Citizens Energy's website. Please run a search within my blog on "Joe Kennedy" to read previous postings on this matter dating back to November 23, 2005.

Today, at the beginning of the winter season in North America, and during the worst financial crisis affecting everyone, we learned that Citizens Energy has issued a press release announcing a re-evaluation of the program offered by CITGO:

Heating Oil Program Announcement
http://www.citizensenergy.com/file/201/press%20release%20ohp%20010509.pdf

At the same time, infamous Chavez and his officials have reduced in half the amount of foreign currencies that Venezuelan citizens can buy a year as announced by Comisión de Administración de Divisas
http://www.cadivi.gov.ve/

It seems that the Chavez’s administration is reducing expenses. I wonder if Chavez is punishing and/or manipulating Venezuelan citizens in order to humiliate them further by reducing quality of life. What about reducing the so abusive contributions to all of the countries that he is openly supporting including Argentina, Bolivia (just recently a second full load of SUVs for their police force), Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua among others?
