Venezuela's Political Disaster - May 25, 2007

Dear Journalists,

Please know that the Venezuelan opposition is organizing a number of street actions to counter the government decision not to renew a broadcast license for Radio Caracas Television (RCTV) as reported by
www.eluniversal.com.

I will be following the events through out the long weekend, and adding updates to my blog as needed. I may only send one e-mail a day to the distribution lists.

Today university students protested in the streets the announced closing of Radio Caracas Television (RCTV):

Chavez minimized his whim and described as "routine" the closing of RCTV the oldest and dynamic television network in Venezuela. However, Chavez asked his followers to ridicule all the world organizations who are supporting human rights in Venezuela as reported in the next link:

Former Venezuelan Ambassador to the United Nations, Milos Alcalay, said that Chavez is unable to hold a dialogue. Ambassador Alcalay also said that Chavez only knows how to order around insulting everyone.

Venezuelans are hostages of an infamous dictator. All your cooperation to help Venezuelans restore democracy will be greatly appreciated.

Cordially,

Maru Angarita
