Update 2: Venezuela's Political Disaster - May 27, 2007

Venezuelans are protesting peacefully, but big time in Caracas in the area of Las Mercedes. Chavez's police threw tear gas, and other anti-riot tools as reported by Globovision earlier this evening. There are reports from witnesses that a protestor was severely beaten by the police:

Antonio Ledezma, one of the opposition leaders, who delivered the 100,000 signatures in March to the Organization of American States is currently in intensive care at the hospital suffering a reaction from the tear gas.
