Venezuela's Political Disaster - November 18, 2006

Dear Journalists,

The anticipation among Venezuelans is heating up awaiting the results of the presidential elections to take place on December 3, 2006. The rumors are spreading thoughtout cities with fear of violence, and that Chavez and decadent supporters may cheat the e-voting results. This is in addition to the thousands of foreigners that Chavez has given instant Venezuelan citizenship whom may vote for him.*

The following picture is of Opposition Candidate Manuel Rosales' gathering in Maracay, (my birth town):

I have been told that the gathering was larger than expected, specially in a town where the military has supported Chavez. El Siglo newspaper reports that Rosales' aircraft could not land in Maracay because the airport is deteriorated:

All the cooperation of international observers to enforce democratic elections free of corruption in Venezuela is urged.

Cordially,
